PERSONAL MESSAGE
Dear neighbours,
This past month, City Council made several important decisions that reflect our community’s values: sustainable growth, inclusive planning, and long-term investment in critical infrastructure, such as our water plans . From expanding organics collection citywide to adopting a new Place Identity Framework that better represents all residents, we continue working to build a Saskatoon that serves everyone.
As your representative for Ward 2, I’m committed to keeping you informed, listening to your ideas, and advocating for the resources our communities need. That’s why I hope you’ll join me for our next Coffee & Community Talk on Friday, June 20 at Station 20 West. This event is your opportunity to ask questions, share your feedback, and connect with your neighbours in a casual, welcoming space.
Thank you for staying engaged in our local democracy. Together, we can shape a stronger, greener, and more inclusive Ward 2 and Sskatoon.
Warm regards,
Councillor Senos Timon

City Council received a comprehensive report from the Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC), presenting a detailed roadmap for transitioning Saskatoon Transit’s fleet to zero-emission buses (ZEBs). While the report concludes that a full fleet conversion is not yet financially feasible, it offers essential long-term strategic guidance.
Council approved the CUTRIC Implementation Plan, which includes two key directions:
- Fleet Strategy Alignment – The plan will guide updates to Saskatoon Transit’s 10-Year Fleet Renewal Strategy.
- Monitoring and Piloting – Transit Services will continue to monitor advancements in ZEB technology and shifts in Saskatchewan’s power grid, and will identify opportunities for small-scale pilot projects where viable.
The City remains committed to lowering transit-related emissions and will actively pursue federal funding to support future implementation. Through pilot initiatives and continued planning, Saskatoon is laying the foundation for a sustainable, cost-effective zero-emission transit future. Read more
